An organization of performing arts

Lalit Kala Sangam is an organization for performing arts such as music, dance,theatre, visual arts and its allied traits.

The main objectives of the organisation is to promote and propagate the varieties of performing arts as well as to preserve and enhance traditional and folk music genres of the state.

Music Education

Classical- vocal and instrumental music, regional manipuri folk and traditional music, light vocal music, etc are taught in the Music Institute of Lalit Kala Sangam

Musicians

Many established musicians of Manipur for classical, light and folk (vocal and instrumental) music are members of the organisation. Young talented musicians are given chances to get platform to become mature artiste.

Online Class

Online Classes are conducted by the faculties of LKS Music Institute for the students who have formally admitted and have inconvenience to join normal classes at teaching institutions.

Membership

Any enthusiast citizen of Manipur may apply for membership online or offline by normal process at the head office and branches of Lalit Kala Sangam, to work out together for fulfilling the aim and objectives of the organisation. As per rules and regulations of the organisation, the members of the different committees will be elected from the registered members.

Message From Chairman

The Lalit Kala Sangam Imphal, which was established in 1989, had earned a tremendous achievement towards imparting musical education in Hindustani Music to the young learners of the State. A number of students have been trained in CLassical and Modern music of different specializations. Although, the main focus has been in the Classical & Modern music and Instrumental music like Flute, Violin, Guitar, Harmonium and Tabla, etc. The institute has also encouraged to learn traditional form of music and variuos performing arts.

Aim and objectives

To promote and propagate cultural activities, with special stress and reference to performing arts, such as Music, Dance, Theatre, Visual Arts etc.

General body and other committees

Lalit Kala Sangam was established on 10th October 1989 at Imphal by group efforts of the performing art lovers and artistes of the region. The current members of the Association as on 31st March 2020 is around 196 including 87 Life Members & 10 Patron Members.
